the placemat is a huge hit! our son, rio, has about five or six placemats that we rotate out every so often... since we got the robot placemat (for his robot-themed birthday party), it's the only one he's used! we may as well throw the rest of them away. elmo, dinosaurs, alphabet animals... who cares about all them? gimme that robot placemat! They are FABULOUS! My son is turning three and he really wants a classic tin robot (they appear in a cartoon called Max & Ruby) but unfortunately they are unsafe for a kid this small and really aren't toys. I think he'll be thrilled with the place mat and it will be a decent substitution!
