What makes Dolce Mia's photo albums special?
Built to Last — The pages of our Sew Vintage albums are sewn together, just like a hardcover book, not glued like other albums. Stitch-binding is a more expensive process, but worth it for the durability.
Acid-Free/PVC-free — We use ONLY acid-free paper and PVC-free sleeves in our photo albums.
Space for Notes — Our large photo albums have room to the sides of each photograph for your hand-written comments.
Superior Craftsmanship — Our photo albums are made with care by hand. The printed cover is actually two separate pieces of giclée cloth, sewn together with accent stitching and then hand-fitted onto the album blank.
Design, Design, Design! — Besides the front-cover design, the spines, as well as the back of our albums have been carefully designed. This is in contrast to other cloth photo albums, where the cover is just a repeating pattern. Each album is in fact printed one at a time, using 100-year inks and specially-prepared cotton cloth.
Unique Vintage Imagery . Our retro designs are drawn from the Golden Age of illustration—the 1950's and 1960's. For those of us old enough to remember, they take us back. For those younger...they are simply fantastic!
Printed in the U.S.A . Because we insist on best-quality imagery, inks and fabrics for our photo albums, we choose to print the fabric ourselves in our California factory. To keep costs down, final assembly of the albums is done in the China or in Mexico.
Vivid Colors / Incredible Detail. Dolce Mia uses giclée printing to create the vivid colors and high detail of our Sew Vintage photo albums. “Giclée” (pronounced zheeCLAY) is a French term. It describes a technique for making fine-art quality prints using color-accurate, ultra high-resolution inkjet systems. Though giclée is significantly more expensive than other methods of printing on fabric, we value its superior image quality and archival characteristics. Our giclée-printed images are color-true and will last for generations. |
