Dolce Mia from New York City to St. Helena, CA
The reason I love these albums so much is because they remind me of my grandmother who lived in St. Helena. We still go back to our family home all the time! But my sister in law from new york city got me my first dolce mia album. Thanks for your adorable albums!!

When Does Modern Become Vintage?
Vintage designs and imagery weren’t always “vintage”. Once, they were modern. How does a design pass from modern to vintage? Is the path guaranteed? How long does the process take? And does the design through any other phases on the way?

The images in our Tin Toy place mat, for example, are all iconic today. What path did they take to get there?
It seems to me that the time period is about twenty years, and that the “path to vintage state” is cleared by a small subset of imagery, icons from the era. As time goes on, the status of the imagery is solidified, and accepted, more follows.
I’m thinking of the “punk” and “new wave” clothes I used to wear in 1985. I haven’t seen them around today, but the very best ones would look “vintage” today. (The mediocre ones would be junk, and would remain so, no matter how much time passes.) These are newly-minted vintage materials. With time, their status will only become more solidified.
Vintage, then, seems to be a status guaranteed to quality work; if ever it was considered top-notch modern, it may go out of style, but it will return in about twenty years to a wisened state called “vintage”.

Customer Review: Tin Toy and Kids Space Albums
Hi Alex!
They arrived today and they’re adorable, especially the tin toy one. Of course, having already filled the farm one and the jungle one, I knew these would also be equally great in terms of imaging clarity and appeal as well as album quality. I love them and everyone always comments on how cute they are (as well as the contents, of course)! They’re some of the best albums I’ve seen for kids out there and I plan on ordering more as the pictures keep rolling off the press!
Best,
Dina
