Firefighter Photo Album Customer Review

I had decided that all of the snapshots of my older son were sitting in the computer and needed to be in a photo album instead. I was pretty excited to see that you had a firefighter photo album. He’s really into Fireman Sam right now (and he had a fireman birthday party) so I thought that it would be perfect way to show off his photos, as well as reminding us what he liked (when he is older). I will probably order the construction and train/farm albums as well. He liked all things construction last year, and Thomas the year before that. I am so glad that you have all of those. Now if only you had one for Holland…..

Thank You

Mango Tangerine Surfer Soap & Pikake Soap Customer Review

I bought the Dolce Mia soaps as a birthday gift for my sister-in-law…. She loves Hawaii and Hawaiian design motifs in general, so I thought your soaps would be perfect for her, especially as she is in the process of decorating her Hawaiian-themed bathroom. Indeed, she fell in love with the cool retro designs the moment she unwrapped them, to the extent that I’m not sure the soaps will ever actually be used for their intended hygienic purpose! My gift was a resounding success. Thanks!

About Dolce Mia:

Founded in 1995 by the designer Jenny Mountjoy, Dolce Mia produces vintage-themed stationery, home-décor and soaps for the gift and bath & body markets. Dolce Mia is headquartered in Sonoma County, California, north of San Francisco, in an area known for its farms and pastoral landscapes, small food producers & fine wines.

About Jenny Mountjoy:

Born in Chicago, Jenny was raised in Santa Barbara in the 1970’s. She recounts a groovy Californian surfer lifestyle that sounds like something out of the movies. Her father was a prominent restauranteur, and also held the lease on the town’s principal music venue, the Santa Barbara County Bowl. Jenny’s upbringing included lots of great food as well as front row seats to every rock and R & B show that came to town.

By the time she went to college, Jenny was ready to leave the party lifestyle behind. She attended UC Santa Cruz, which at the time was in its infancy, and as low-key a university as you could find. Graduating with a degree in Psychology, she went on to live and work in England at a fashion magazine, returning to work in the education department of the Boston Museum of Science. She received her Masters in Arts Education from Stanford in 1992 and worked briefly in a school in San Francisco before starting Dolce Mia in the basement of her San Francisco apartment. The first stores to every carry Dolce Mia products were in San Francisco and in Nantucket, Massachusetts, where the Mountjoys have a summer home.

Today Jenny lives with her husband, two sons and five sheep in Occidental, California. Her work with Dolce Mia reflects her inspiring, charismatic personality, her Californian upbringing and her professional training in the arts. Jenny combines a refined sense of aesthetics with West Coast charm and originality, a deep-rooted modesty with a brilliant sense of humor and great friendliness, and a commitment to a well-balanced life.

Simplicity and Sweetness

I think [the Ballerina Place Mat and Fairies Place Mat] are really adorable and beautiful. I find the simplicity and sweetness of the vintage designs to be really appealing as a mom of three girls. I’m working hard as a mom to preserve my girls’ youth and keep them away from Hannah Montanna, Bratz dolls, even Barbie and Disney princesses. Having beautiful choices like the ones your company offers really helps. The decorator in me also likes having things around that I like to look at too and your children’s products are great for that as well! We have some of your other placemats and growth charts and they are a big hit in my family. Friends come over and see our mats and say “Where these yours when you were a child?!” Nope!

Thank you for asking my opinion. And thanks for making sweet products for children.
